Frequently asked questions

When does my cover start?

Your Heating Connect policy starts on the day your application is accepted. However, there is an initial 30-day period where you cannot make a claim. This is to prevent claims on pre-existing problems and to keep premiums low.

What if I already have a home emergency plan elsewhere?

You should be able to cancel and switch to Heating Connect assuming you are not under contract with your previous supplier. For more information, please call our sales team on 0800 044 3001

Are there any callout or excess charges?

We offer the option to reduce your monthly payments by paying a £60 excess on all callouts. If you choose to take out one of our policies with a fixed £60 excess, then you will be charged £60 for each callout. This charge does not apply to subsequent visits made within 30 days, to fix the fault identified at the initial callout. There is no callout charge for your annual boiler service. For all policies with £0 excess charge there will be no charge for callouts and repairs.

What are your response times?

In the event of an emergency, such as an uncontrolled water leak, we aim to have someone with you within two hours. For other faults, we will do our best to have someone with you on the same day if you call before 9.00am or within 24 hours of your call.

When will my boiler be serviced?

Your boiler service will normally be carried out towards the annual anniversary of your policy. We try and complete the majority of boiler services between March and October following the year your policy began. When you sign up, you will be advised what month your boiler has been scheduled for and the month prior to this, we will be in touch to arrange a suitable day and time for one of our engineers to conduct it.
